A great night of firsts! In Atlanta, GA, voters elected Alex Wan, the first gay man and first Asian American to serve on the city council, and Simone Bell, the first openly lesbian African American state legislator in the United States. In Campbell, CA, Evan Low was selected by his fellow council members to replace current Mayor Jane Kennedy, making Low both the nation's youngest Asian American and openly gay mayor.* A huge night for all!!
