Andy Quach Apologizes for DUI... Is it Enough?

Here's a quick follow up to the story of Republican CA Assemblymember Van Tran disrupting the DUI investigations of his friend Westminster City Councilman Andy Quach, 37. On August 1, Quach called Tran to the scene of an accident, after crashing his black S550 Mercedes-Benz into a power pole. The accident knocked out the power for 300 of his constituents.

Anyway, Quach surprised his fellow councilmembers by attending the council's meeting on Wednesday. As you'll recall:

Quach was charged with two drunken driving misdemeanors for the Aug. 2 incident in which he clipped another car and knocked out power to 300 homes after hitting a power pole. His blood alcohol level registered .26 percent, three times the legal limit.

...

Some residents at the meeting said they wanted the 27-year-old Quach to resign, but the councilman said he is not going to make "hasty political decisions."

If you agree with his critics, here's an on-line poll that asks whether or not Quach should resign.
