APAP Top Unsung Heroes 2010

Progressives had a lot of battles in 2010. In the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Day earlier this week, APAP would like this week to highlight and recognize community leaders for all their hard work and commitment to equality, fairness and progressive values.

We also want to recognize the number of candidates who ran for office this year, thought not everyone was elected, we hope that next year and in the future that they continue to pursue public service as elected officials.

APAP would like to pay a special tribute to those who have passed on and to acknowledge their life's work that has inspired so many of us in the progressive movement and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, particularly Peter J. Corpus and Tam Ngoc Tran.

Last, but definitely not least--to all the the nominators and contributing blog writers for this blog series: you help make many of these behind-the-scenes folks 'sung' and are heroes in your own right.

We look forward to next year's Top Unsung Heroes as we continue work in the progressive movement.

Sincerely,

APAP Top Unsung Heroes 2010 Selection Committee
