Asian Pacific Americans for Progress Political Action Committee endorses Manan Trivedi for Congress

September 30, 2009 - In a unanimous decision, the Asian Pacific Americans for Progress Political Action Committee (APAP PAC) proudly endorsed Dr. Manan Trivedi for the Democratic Nomination for the Congressional Seat in the 6^th District of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Trivedi accepted the endorsement stating: “It is exhilarating to be endorsed by a national grass roots organization such as APAP.  I share their vision of enacting change through a grass roots movement as well as empowering the Asian American population, while building bridges with the community at large”.

Dr. Trivedi’s unique combination of being a physician as well as an Iraq War veteran gives him a valuable perspective to tackle the problems facing our country.  In addition to his strong credentials that are so relevant to today's issues of health-care and security, Dr. Trivedi’s South Asian heritage brings an additional dimension. If elected, Dr. Trivedi will be the first Asian American Congress person from PA, further broadening the landscape of electoral politics.

APAP believes that it is important to promote such highly qualified candidates who are willing to dedicate themselves to public office. A young, energetic and intelligent person with Asian heritage will in turn help open doors for other Asian Americans to enter politics and will make our political foundation that much stronger.
