Yesterday NOI posted on their blog a 4 major lessons on what you need to launch a successful blog from OpenLeft founder Chris Bowers (see the video & blog post here).
The four things needed to launch a successful blog are:
- Resources (time and/or money)
- Clear Topic Area
- Expertise
- An initial audience
The end of the blog post features question & answers from Bowers including "how frequently should you post?" "what role should comments play?"
The part that I liked most (besides how great it is to have this all listed out and shared) is at the under "what role should comments play?" where Bowers offers the advice: "Need to figure out how to offer your community a way to participate that no one else is."
What do we offer in the APAP community that can't be found elsewhere? What keeps you coming back? What do you wish to see?
