Chase Community Giving Program

If you’re a Facebook user, you’ve probably heard of Chase Community Giving program. You may have even voted for your favorite non-profits in the first round.  The results of the 100 organizations that received the most votes were revealed in December, and among them were four Asian Pacific American organizations highlighted below. All four of the organizations received $25,000 dollars and have continued on to the next round to compete for $1 million. In the second and last round, they share with us their Big Idea for using the $1 million to better their community.

Vallay Varro, St. Paul School Board Interview

A few weeks ago I met with Vallay Moua Varro who is running for a position on the St. Paul School Board of Education. There has not been much news about Ms. Varro’s campaign. As a St. Paul resident and St. Paul School alumni I was curious to learn more about her background and her plans to improve the school district.
