ISLANDERS TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE CALL TODAY
Plans for Delivering Needed Services to Asian Americans, Pacific
Islanders to be Outlined
Kiran Ahuja, executive director of the White House Initiative on Asian
American and Pacific Islanders, and Chris Lu, assistant to the president
and Cabinet secretary, will hold a conference call with reporters today
to announce the White House Initiative's next steps to improve the lives
of Asian American and Pacific Islanders. Ms. Ahuja will also discuss
her group's work since President Obama reestablished the White House
Initiative last October.
As the nation prepares to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander
Heritage Month in May, the White House Initiative will hold events and
activities across the country to highlight the
government's efforts to address critical issues faced by Asian American
and Pacific Islander communities.
