Experience Capitol Hill with a Congressional Internship! Democratic
Congressman Mike Honda (CA-15) seeks unpaid interns for the Spring of
2011. Spring interns will work from April 4 to the end of June. As
an intern, your primary responsibility will be to support and assist
the staff and serve the people of the 15th Congressional District of
California. Duties may include but are not limited to data entry,
researching policies and programs to draft correspondence to
constituents, attending hearings and briefings for staff, providing
administrative support, scheduling and giving tours, conducting
legislative research, and providing general assistance to the staff.
Applicants should possess strong communication and interpersonal
skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. In
exchange for your hard work you will gain valuable first-hand insight
into the workings of Capitol Hill, and have great networking
opportunities.
Full-time internship requires that you be available from 9am to 6pm,
Monday-Friday. Part-time internship requires a minimum of 20 hours
per week. We are able to fill out paperwork so that you can get
credit. This opportunity provides a great hands-on learning
experience with good professional exposure that is perfect for anyone
looking for opportunities on the Hill. Northern California experience
and bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
