The Historic Moment: House Passes Healthcare Reform* (UPDATE)

This is our moment to live up to the trust the American people have placed in us… this is our moment to deliver… I urge Congress to answer the call of the American people

Obama also stated, “remember why you got into politics in the first place and when you do, remember we can’t afford to let this moment pass.” 
“A year ago, we were elected to change the country,” Obama told a roomful of House Democrats, according to the note of one person in attendance. “You guys have met the call on every single challenge.”

“Are we going to stop now, or push forward?” Obama asked.

“Push forward,” a dozen or so Democrats shouted back.

President Obama believes that the Democrats will get it done soon. After signing the healthcare bill impacting the lives of many Americans, Obama expounds "we’ll look back and say that was our finest moment.”

7:30 pm EST Nov. 7, 2009 
House Democrats believe they have secured the 218 votes needed to pass the bill.
Around 5:00 pm EST, word has it that Democrats had the vote needed to pass the $1.2 Trillion bill.
At 6:30 pm EST, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was at the House floor. She said "today we will pass the Affordable Health Care for America Act.. . .We will make history. We will also make progress for America's working families."

Currently 32 Democrats have publicly expressed their objection to the healthcare reform bill. According to numerous sources, the Democrats believe they do have what it takes to pass the bill.
