The event — held in partnership with the Asian American Literary Review and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival — will take place at the Chop Suey Cafe and Lounge in downtown Los Angeles from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Phil Yu, the face behind www.AngryAsianMan.com, Diana Nguyen of www.Disgrasian.com, and Victor Kim of Quest Crew, which won MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," are among the many special guests confirmed to attend the event in support of Hyphen’s mission to tell the untold stories of the Asian American community.
“We’re very excited to be having our first celebration in Los Angeles, because Southern California's Asian American community is vibrant, and is featured prominently in this next issue.” said Hyphen’s editor in chief, Harry Mok. “Many of our contributors and supporters, past and present, are based in L.A. and our readers have been asking us for years to do an event in their backyard. So this party is definitely overdue.”
Hyphen’s publisher Lisa Lee says, “We already feel so welcome during the planning of this event, so the night will definitely be an amazing gathering of people who are at the forefront of the progressive Asian American community.”
If you’re looking to connect and utilize the unique platform that Hyphen has to offer as a premier Asian American publication and online presence to gain visibility for your work, you won’t want to miss this important event. For more information, visit www.hyphenmagazine.com.
