Perhaps, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is too busy trying to kill Obama's health care reform, but he has decided not to challenge Republican Senator David Vitter in a primary, despite Vitter's potential vulnerability with the Republican base. In usual political-speak:
Jindal said his top priority is to have a strong delegation representing Louisiana in Washington, D.C., and for those lawmakers to be able to erase party lines and work together with the state's best interest in mind.
The only thing he left out was the part about spending more time with his family. Most interestingly, Jindal failed to endorse Vitter:
"David's going have to make his case with the voters directly just like any other candidate's going to have to do that."
Maybe Republican Congressman Joseph Cao (LA-02) might want to give it a go afterall. He has an uphill battle just retaining his seat in his overwhelmingly Democratic district. What does he have to lose? To join the Draft Cao effort, go here.
