Summary
Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director, the Health Programs Manager will provide oversight of health education/outreach, health careers pipeline, and community based participatory research projects, including managing project budgets, scopes of work, project activities, large partnerships/collaborations, subcontracts, developing relationships to ensure access and resources for community members on health care issues, and staff performance evaluations/mentorship. Utilizing health education and behavior change models, develop cultural competent health education tools,
trainings, curricula, and evaluation in partnership with others. The position also works to represent the needs of Asians and Pacific Islanders and convey OCAPICA’s mission and vision at various conferences, trainings, and gatherings. “Special Service for Groups/OCAPICA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative

Essential Functions
Program (70%)
♦ Manage several health programs among numerous community based organization partners.
♦ Develop community health education curricula, trainings, and toolkits based upon health education and behavior change theoretical models.
♦ Establish resource tools regarding community based participatory research, community health education, evaluation, and disparities in health.
♦ Work with program researchers to evaluate programs.
♦ Work with large collaborations of diverse populations to implement health programs.
♦ Present at national and local conferences on program results.

Management (30%)
♦ Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers.
♦ Produce reports and manage and oversee budgets.
♦ Oversee partnership and coalition development.
♦ Work closely with funders and meeting all contractual requirements.
♦ Supervise and monitor subcontractors.

Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
♦ Must have excellent program development and implementation skills
♦ Have at least 3 years or more experience working on health programs with community organizations
♦ Must have excellent networking and communication skills
♦ Must be comfortable with the philosophy and goals of OCAPICA.
♦ California Driver’s License, proof of car insurance
♦ Reliable transportation to travel to conferences, meetings, and trainings
♦ Proof of employment eligibility
♦ Bachelors degree or higher

Desired Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
♦ Graduate degree in public health or social welfare preferred
♦ Experience with program development and evaluation
♦ Experience with coalition building and working with several community partners
♦ Must be comfortable working in a team environment
♦ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
♦ Prefer individual with flexibility and initiative
♦ Supervisory experience preferred
♦ Ability to work with diverse populations

Supervisory Responsibilities
♦ Supervision of two staff.

♦ The environment for this position is an office environment.

♦ In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, standing, walking, typing, filing, listening and speaking.
