LGBT/Pride Week

June is LGBT pride month. We have a variety of queer AAPI's, friends, families and allies posting about their experiences. Thanks to Be DeGuzman, one of APAP's 2009 Unsung Heroes, for coordinating this special week of posts.

To help with our upcoming hate crimes/Vincent Chin week (June 21) or Pacific Islander week (Aug), please let us know. If you have a topic you or your agency would like to coordinate, email us.

Children’s Law Center (CLC) envisions a future for the District of Columbia in which every child has a safe home, a meaningful education and a healthy mind and body. We work toward this vision by providing legal services to at-risk children and their families and using the knowledge we gain from representing our individual clients to advocate for changes in the law and its implementation.

Position Description:

The Legal Assistant will provide support to the Legal Director and the COO and, as needed, to the Project Directors. Major responsibilities of this position include compiling program data for management reports, coordinating the hiring process for new staff attorneys, and performing other tasks as needed by the other Project Directors at CLC. Past projects include editing and redesigning Office Manual for online distribution, developing processes for closed case filing, reorganizing CLC’s electronic legal library, and maintaining files on the shared server. The Legal Assistant reports to the Legal Director and the COO.
