Description:

For 35 years, Asian Community Mental Health Services (ACMHS) has been pioneering approaches to mental health services for Asians and Pacific Americans who face cultural, economic and/or linguistic barriers to care. Our mission is to provide and advocate for multicultural, multilingual family services that empower the most vulnerable members of our community to lead healthy, productive and contributing lives.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Direct the Graduate Training Program, including planning, implementing and evaluating the program’s effectiveness;

2. Serve as the agency’s liaison with various graduate training programs, state and local association for graduate interns, and workforce development stakeholder communities;

3. Oversee and coordinate the staff in-service training program. Develop training curricula that emphasize on evidence-based practices, cultural competency, diversity, and QA excellence. Promote an on-going effective learning collaborative among staff.

4. Provide clinical and administrative supervision to clinical staff of various academic levels, interns and peer counselors;

5. Be on the Roster of Supervisor of the Day;

6. Maintain a caseload and handle more complex cases;

7. Perform a variety of recovery-oriented diagnostic assessment, treatment, referral and outreach services;

8. Meet the monthly required client service contacts, maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency, county, state guidelines and quality assurance standards;

9. Conduct in-service training, make presentation and provide consultation to staff, system providers and community;

10. Conduct or participate in case conference, peer review, quality assurance and/or utilization review;

11. Participate in committees and task forces within and outside of agency, as appropriate;

12. Assist Director of Behavioral Health Care Services in establishing outpatient program goals and objectives; developing new service areas; strengthening and enforcing standards of care; adopting evidence based treatment approaches, and measuring outcomes; and

13. Other duties as may be required by the Director of Behavioral Health Care Services.

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Possession of a valid State of California license as a LCSW, MFT, or PsyD/PhD; two years post licensure preferred;

2. Bilingual/bicultural in an Asian language such as Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Japanese, Korean, Mien or Tagalog preferred;

3. Minimum two years clinical experience working with Asian clients and knowledge of clinical issues with this population;

4. Experience in supervisory responsibilities with a culturally diverse staff;

5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;

6. Ability to work independently and to exercise professional discretion and judgment;

7. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member, maintain professional working relationship with co-workers, clients, family members, community members and providers;

8. Embrace welcoming and recovery principles of working with the mentally ill and clients with alcohol and other drug disorders;

9. Valid California Driver’s license, auto insurance with bodily injury liability limit of at least $100,000/300,000 and access to use of an automobile;

10. Support and implement the philosophy, goals and objectives of Asian Community Mental Health Services.
