Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide mental health & drug & alcohol counseling and related clinical case management for youth age 12 –18 years old;

2. Provide comprehensive mental health and drug and alcohol services, including intake evaluation, diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, individual and group therapy, and case management;

3. Maintain a caseload of youth clients in school based and clinic-based settings;

4. Collaborate effectively with other agency departments and with community/school partners to establish continuity of care for clients;

5. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of service contacts in accordance with agency, county, and state guidelines and quality assurance standards;

6. Meet the standard of monthly required billable units;

7. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, peer review meetings, and supervision sessions;

8. Other clinical, administrative, and operational duties as assigned by the Youth Program Clinical Supervisor and AOD Program Coordinator.

Additional Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or psychology;

2. Master Degree and certificate in AOD counseling a plus;

3. Demonstrated competence in DSMIV, crisis stabilization and treatment of youth with mental health and/or substance abuse issues;

4. At least two years of providing youth mental health and/or substance abuse treatment counseling; school-based treatment experience a plus;

5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

6. Ability to work with a culturally diverse staff and client population; bilingual in an Asian language a plus;

7. Ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and adhere to the legal and ethical standards of the social work field;

8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member, maintain professional working relationship with coworkers, clients, community members and providers;

9. Valid California Driver’s license, auto insurance with bodily injury liability limit of at least $100,000/300,000, and access to use of an automobile; and

10. Support and implement the mission, vision and values of Asian Community Mental Health Services.
