You are invited to join Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.) this Thursday at 4 p.m. EST / 1 p.m. PST for an AAPI Tele-Town hall on Immigration Reform. Anyone can participate in this call with Honda, chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, to learn about the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP), which Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) introduced today.
Mobilize to Ensure Passage of Comprehensive Immigration Reform
Now that Congress is moving forward on comprehensive immigration reform, it is time for the AAPI community to mobilize and let Congress know that we are demanding CIR ASAP’s passage.
R.S.V.P. NOW So You Can Be Part of the Dialog but No Later Than 3 P.M. EST/NOOON PST WEDNESDAY at http://honda.house.gov/capac
CIR ASAP demonstrates that members of Congress have heeded the calls of Asian Americans and others in the immigrant community for an immigration system that reunite families, restores fairness to our labor markets, recognizes the contributions of immigrant workers and families, helps get our economy back on track and ensures that we stay true to our values as a nation of immigrants.
Karen Narasaki of the Asian American Justice Center and Eun Sook Lee of the National Korean American Service & Education Consortium will also join the call to discuss how we can mobilize, change history and finally fix our broken immigration system.
RSVP BY 3 P.M. EST/ 12 P.M. PST WEDNESDAY at http://honda.house.gov/capac
I sincerely hope that the town hall that members of congress will have in the coming months will be more civil as opposed to what happen last fall.
