Post About Your House Party at Asian Pacific Americans for Progress!

POSTING A BLOG ON ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICANS FOR PROGRESS

To host party hosts, thanks for opening your home and/or office to our members. Please encourage the attendees to fill out the survey monkey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/apaphouse

Also, please put up pictures and a blog post on your party. Just follow these simple steps.

1.) sign up for an account. (If you are shy, you can create an alias)

2.) hit create content or create blog entry

3.) fill in the spaces for title, tags and lead image

4.) compose your text (usually under 500 words)

5.) hit save

The post will then appear on our main page, at the right hand side under recent posts. If the moderators notice your post gaining a lot of interest, they will promote it to a more prominent location on the site.

Just a few tips:

1.) choosing a title - imagine you are using google yourself. how would you type in search words when looking for an article? That's the same way you should approach choosing a title. It will help readers find your articles more easily and faster. Use specific and common terms like: "Mazie Hirono Supports Public Option"

2.) make sure to include the tags because that's also how google organize its searches

3.) promote your posts by alerting your friends, tweeeting it or posting on your facebook wall as a link

4.) put links back to your site to help promote what you are doing

5.) if you want to identify yourself with a sentence bio about yourself and what you do, that would be cool, too!

If you need additional help, we actually have a video tutorial at http://www.apaforprogress.org/blog-apas-progress
