The excitement is building for the Unity Walk and Rally for Health Care Reform THIS Saturday 8/29 at noon. With just four days to go, things are looking good. We expect hundreds of diverse New Yorkers to attend.
Here are the Walk and Rally Details:
On Saturday, August 29th, we will assemble at 12 noon at 12th St and Seventh Avenue adjacent to St. Vincent's Hospital for the walk to Times Square , where the rally will begin at 2 pm. We will begin walking from St. Vincent 's at 12:30 pm. We will walk straight up Seventh Avenue to the rally in Times Square . If the walk is a little too long for you, hop on the subway anywhere along the route at 14th, 18th, 23rd, 28th and 34th Streets. If possible, bring a hand- made sign (no sticks please). We will also have some to distribute, please RSVP here if you would like to join us- Unity Walk and Rally for Health Care Reform
We will have one speaker representing each of these communities: young adults, seniors, immigrant small business, faith community, doctors, labor, plus Members of Congress including Congressman Charles B. Rangel and Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney.
Here are some ways you can help:
1) Attend and bring your friends. It would be great to have a large Asian presence at the rally.
2) Help spread the word. Please see the flyer below, make a few copies and get them around. Local stores, community bulletin boards, wherever folks gather. Download the flyer here: Unity Rally flyer
3) Join other APA for Progress NY members at a sign making party on Friday 8/28 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Please see details and RSVP here: Sign Making Party Friday 8/28 Light refreshments will be served.
Let's get this done!
