Call Your Senators and Oppose Further Cuts to Arts and Theaters APAP urges its members to call their United States Senators and strongly oppose conservative Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn's "Limitation on Funds Amendment 175," which would prevent any money in the Economic Stimulus Bill to go to theaters and arts centers. As many of you are painfully aware, arts centers and theaters are undergoing the worst economic climate ever and many will be forced to cut-back and shut-down as a result of the financial and economic disaster. This means some of the most struggling arts groups and poorest-of-the-poor people will be damaged in catestrophic ways-- to the point that a recovery, both personally for the workers and staff and the organizations, will be next to impossible. Please make at least one phone call to help our friends in the artistic community. Click here to find your Senator.
