Inaugural St. Louis House Party!!

A small, but PROUD group of St. Louisans finally joined the AAPI conference call this year! We were very excited to be included in the conversation. The conference call definitely sparked insightful dialogue about the status of Asian Pacific Americans not only in the nation as a whole, but specifically in St. Louis.


House Party in Northern Virginia

Ten Asian American professionals attended the House Party in Northern Virginia.  We listened to the conference call by Skype on a computer, which was louder than my telephone speaker.  After the conference call, we discussed issues such as Wall Street regulation, the environment, and health care reform.  We have to counteract the special interests that have such strong influence on Congress.


HIV Services Non-Profit Reflects on AAPI House Party

Ten staff and community members from Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center in San Francisco took part in the National AAPI House Party. A&PI Wellness Center is a health services, education, research and policy organization dedicated to educating, supporting, empowering and advocating for A&PIs communities—particularly A&PIs living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.


Binghamton, NY National API House Party 5/2/10

About seventeen students of Asian Outlook Magazine attended Binghamton's first ever participation in the National API House party.  Asian Outlook is a student-run publication at the State University of New York at Binghamton that covers Asian and Asian-American politics, entertainment, personal experiences and creative works.


Seattle: excited and fired up! Next steps?

At one of the Seattle APA for Progress house parties, we cheered for (and tweeted and Facebooked about) all the great speakers on the call, from Kalpen Modi to Rep. Mike Honda to fierce sister Kiran Ahuja.  It was reassuring to hear about so many resources at the national level.
