Ravi Sangisetty announces run for Congress

Louisiana Attorney and Democrat Ravi Sangisetty officially announced his candidacy for Congress today. He's running in an open seat that being vacated by Democrat Charlie Melancon. As we reported earlier, Ravi has raised the most money so far in this race. Here's the press release from his campaign.

John Liu for Mayor of New York?

Jeesh, the man hasn't even won his race for State Comptroller and already people are openly discussing current City Councilmember John Liu as Mayor of New York City in 2013. When Iraq War veteran and physician Manan Trivedi declared his candidacy for Congress, a lot of people in his suburban Philadelphia district of PA-06 were caught off-guard. Colleen Hanabusa set to run for Congress

Here's some exciting news out of Hawaii. Democrat Colleen Hanabusa, the state Senate president, is expected to soon announce her candidacy for the First Congressional District in Hawaii. That's the seat being vacated by current Representative Neil Abercrombie who is stepping down to run for Governor.

In addition to the big races in New York City today, primaries were also held in Minnesota for St. Paul Mayor and several of the seats on the school board. The results are in and progressive Asian American candidate Vallay Varro has advanced to the run-off in November.
