LGBT/Pride Week

June is LGBT pride month. We have a variety of queer AAPI's, friends, families and allies posting about their experiences. Thanks to Be DeGuzman, one of APAP's 2009 Unsung Heroes, for coordinating this special week of posts.

To help with our upcoming hate crimes/Vincent Chin week (June 21) or Pacific Islander week (Aug), please let us know. If you have a topic you or your agency would like to coordinate, email us.

Jindal's Response Not So Big, Not So Easy

bobby_jindal Well, it looks like the reviews are in for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's response to President Obama's address to the joint session of Congress last night. Let's just say, "the liberal media" strikes again! How else can you explain headlines like: Jindal's GOP Response Flops Jindal's response: Panned, seared And being compared to the character of Kenneth from 30 Rock. This was supposed to be Jindal's big national debut and it was a colossal flop. I guess Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee can give a big sigh of relief. Then again others have bounced back from dismal national debuts. Think of Bill Clinton's debut at the Democratic National Convention a few years back. The bigger problem is for the Republican party and their small and uninspiring ideas.
