We’re pleased to announce that the Nashville, TN Sheriff’s office has been found guilty of violating the Constitutional rights of Juana Villegas, a pregnant immigrant woman who was inhumanely shackled during labor and denied proper treatment after a traffic stop, of which she was later cleared.

9500 Liberty Workshop and Screening

On November 14, 2009, I attended a workshop and screening of 9500 Liberty that was a part of the Austin Asian American Film Festival. Both the screening and workshop were held at the Mexican American Cultural Center, and I was able to go with my organization, the Asian Desi Pacific Islander American Collective (APAC) from The University of Texas at Austin.
