Great news out of Sacramento. After his nomination to serve on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals was derailed by Senate Republicans, Professor Goodwin Liu has just been nominated to serve on the California Supreme Court by Governor Jerry Brown. After being repeatedly block by Republicans, Judge Edward Chen has finally been confirmed to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Northern California District earlier this week. The Senate confirmed him by a vote of 56-42. The number of Asian American federal judges is not at all-time high, doubling from seven to fourteen, since President Obama took office. We now focus our attention on getting nominee Goodwin Liu to becoming the fifteenth.
