It's no secret that the biggest homophobes are often also the biggest closet cases. Just look at people like Reverend Ted Haggard, Senator Larry Craig and most gay bashers. Hak-Shing William Tam, one of the most vocal supporters of California's Prop 8 and one of the original defendants in the federal trial currently going on, might just be one of these self-haters.

Brooklyn Technical HS Students Counter-Protest Westboro Baptist Church

There's a great article in New York Times regarding the students counter-protesting the anti-Semitic and anti-Gay Westboro Baptist Church.  Westboro, known for among other things the website godhatesf***.com and several other forms of hateful rhetoric decided to protest Brooklyn Technical High School for its supposed pro-Jewish and pro-Homosexual agenda.  Brooklyn Technical (also my Alma mater =] ) is one of the more competitive and diverse hi

Marriage Equality Moves Back to Hawaii

nishihara It's funny sometimes the things you find sitting in your inbox. I don't know how I got on this group's list (I'm definitely not their target audience), but I just got emailed an urgent message from a group trying to stop the Civil Unions Bill currently making its way through the Hawaii State House. Of course I went to this "group's" website and found the usual assortment of half-naked men in leather and drag alongside the dire warnings about saving the children and overturning the will of the people. (I won't include their link on this site as I don't want to promote their efforts.) However, there is something you can do:
