Indian American PAC formed by IALI

It looks like this actually happened last month, but we just got this press release in our inbox today, "Indian American Political Body Launches Action Fund." Either way, it's great news with as many as five Indian Americans running for Congress this cycle. According to the release, the newly-formed political action committee has already raised $100,000 which would make it one of the largest, if not the largest, Asian American PAC in the country. Congrats to Varun and his team. Great work!

Jay Goyal, Kamil Hasan and Sunita Leeds named to DNC

At the Democratic Party gathering in Austin last week, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, who is still Governor of Virginia, nominated three Indian Americans as at-large members. They are Ohio state representative Jay Goyal, Democratic Party activist Sunita Leeds of Washington, DC, and Kamil Hasan, general partner of Hitek Venture Partners in Mountainview, CA. They will each serve for four years.

Jay Goyal for Ohio Lt. Gov., update

Jay Goyal up for Lt. Gov. of Ohio

Just got this email from the Indian American Leadership Initiative.  (For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, you should really check them out.) Anyway, their email speculates that Ohio Governor Ted Strickland (D) is considering State Rep. Jay Goyal to be the next Lt. Governor of the State. (The current Lt. Governor, Lee Fisher will be running for the U.S. Senate.)
