Vallay Moua Varro takes office in Minnesota

Looks like the Asian American community could be gaining our own version of the Kenneday's, or at least the Sanchez sisters. That's Loretta and Linda Sanchez, two sisters from Orange County who both happen to be in Congress. In Minnesota, Vallay Moua Varro recently won her election to the St. Paul School Board, thus joining her sister, progressive hero and Minnesota State Senator Mee Moua, as an elected official.


John Choi officially enters race for Ramsey County Attorney

A few weeks back, we reported that St. Paul city attorney John Choi was forming an exploratory committee for Ramsey County Attorney. Now he's made it official. At his official announcement ceremony Choi was surrounded by such supporters as St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, as well as state senators Mee Moua and Satveer Chaudhary, Ramsey County commissioners Rafael Ortega and Toni Carter and three members of the St. Paul City Council, among others.


John Choi forms exploratory committee for Ramsey County Attorney

In addition to Vallay Varro's candidacy for the Saint Paul School Board, word comes from Minnesota that there's another Asian American running for local office. Saint Paul City Attorney John Choi has announced his intentions to run for Ramsey County Attorney. From his recently-launched website:
