In Support of Comprehensive Immigration Reform

On December 15, 2009, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) strongly supported the introduction of comprehensive immigration reform legislation by Congressman Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) in the U.S. House of Representatives. The Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP), H.R.


Asian Caucus meets with Cabinet Secretaries

Here's an editorial in today's the Hill written by Congressmember Mike Honda. It really shows the difference between the current administration and the previous one. 


Leland Cheung elected to Cambridge City Council

Here's another history-making Asian American candidate from Tuesday's elections. Leland Cheung became the first Asian American elected to the Cambridge City Council. As a joint candidate at both MIT and Harvard, Cheung definitely has the educational background.

Honda leads the charge on immigrant inclusion in health reform

Amidst a flurry of proposals and amendments by conservative Republicans to increase barriers to health care for immigrants as well as to derail the reform process, Representative Mike Honda (D-Calif) is leading the charge to remove the excessive and onerous five year waiting period for legal permanent residents.
