Here's an editorial in today's the Hill written by Congressmember Mike Honda. It's entitled, "Asian Caucus meets with Cabinet Secretaries: Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders have voice under Obama leadership." It really shows the difference between the current administration and the previous one. 

U.S. Representative Michael Honda (CA-15), chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, today joined Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula (D-Union) and Asian American leaders from across New Jersey at several cultural celebrations across the state of New Jersey to campaign for Governor Jon S. Corzine, Senator Loretta Weinberg and New Jersey Democrats running for office at all levels to solidify support among New Jersey’s Asian American voters.

Amidst a flurry of proposals and amendments by conservative Republicans to increase barriers to health care for immigrants as well as to derail the reform process, Representative Mike Honda (D-Calif) is leading the charge to remove the excessive and onerous five year waiting period for legal permanent residents. Dissent in American politics is normal. In fact, it's an essential part of a well-functioning democracy. But clearly some of the criticism of President Obama has crossed the line into something ugly with deeper roots.
