President Obama Meets with CAPAC in a Historic Meeting

For the first time in history, the President of the United States met formally with the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) today. President Obama and senior members of his staff met with CAPAC in the Cabinet Room of the White House, where they discussed, among other topics, immigration reform, AAPI judicial nominations, health disparities, data disaggregation, and White House engagement with AAPI communities.

President Obama's American Jobs Act and AAPI Communities

Last Thursday, President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress and called upon the support of Congress and the American people for the American Jobs Act. Mike Honda calls out Obama critics

Dissent in American politics is normal. In fact, it's an essential part of a well-functioning democracy. But clearly some of the criticism of President Obama has crossed the line into something ugly with deeper roots.

Support Rob Miller; Defeat Joe Wilson!

Support Rob Miller for Congress!

By now, we all probably know that some a-hole shouted out "You lie" during President Obama's speech when the President was disputing the charge that health care reform will cover illegal aliens. Far from being a random heckler, it was a sitting member of Congress, U.S. Representative Joe Wilson (SC-02). (What's in the water in SC these days, anyway?)

President Obama's Comments on Senator Kennedy

Michelle and I were heartbroken to learn this morning of the death of our dear friend, Senator Ted Kennedy.

For nearly five decades, virtually every major piece of legislation to advance the civil rights, health and economic well-being of the American people bore his name and resulted from his efforts.
