This just in! President Obama is generously donating his Nobel Peace Prize award money to a bunch of charitable organizations. Hooray! Congrats to the following orgs: Fisher House ($250,000), Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund ($200,000), College Summit ($125,000), Posse Foundation ($125,000), United Negro College Fund ($125,000), Hispanic Scholarship Fund ($125,000), Appalachian Leadership & Education Foundation ($125,000), American Indian College Fund ($125,000).

By now, we all probably know that some a-hole shouted out "You lie" during President Obama's speech when the President was disputing the charge that health care reform will cover illegal aliens. Far from being a random heckler, it was a sitting member of Congress, U.S. Representative Joe Wilson (SC-02). (What's in the water in SC these days, anyway?)

White House reception to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising

My husband, Curtis Chin, and I were among the several hundred LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender) Americans, allies and other guests who attended a reception at the White House on Monday, June 29, 2009 to help commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising.  Lest anyone forget, the LGBT pride parades, festivals and celebrations all across the world celebrate the birth of the modern LGBT movement and the fight for equality that Stonewall triggered.
