After a see-saw night where the lead kept switching back and forth, Raja Krishnamoorthi has finally conceded the Democratic primary race for Illinois Comptroller.

For the past few election cycles, the Asian American community in Illinois has been looking for a candidate who can win and give voice to their concerns. In 2010, the'll have two options: Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi who is running for State Comptroller and Republican Steve Kim who just announced his run for State Attorney General. They both face competitive primaries next February 2nd.

There's an interesting editorial in the Chicago Sun-Times entitled, "Will the Immigrant Story Play in 2010?" It focuses on some of the candidates in Illinois who are running for office and whether or not stories of how their parents or grandparents came to this country and lived out the American dream are an advantage anymore. One of the featured candidates is Raja Krishamoorthi who is running for Illinois Comtroller:
