National Conference call on AAPI women’s issues Friday, May 13th

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the White House Council on Women and Girls and the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders invite you to a nationwide conference call on AAPI women’s issues this Friday, May 13th from 2:30pm -3:30pm Eastern.  Tina Tchen, Chief of Staff to the First Lady and Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls, Lynn Rosenthal, White House Adviser on Violence Against Women, and other senior officials from the Departments of Labor and Heal


Tina Tchen to Join Office of the First Lady as Chief of Staff

 

The White House today announced that Tina Tchen has been promoted to Assistant to the President and Chief of Staff to the First Lady.  Ms. Tchen most recently served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Public Engagement, and as Executive Director of the White House Council on Women and Girls.  She will continue to serve as Executive Director of the Council in her new position.

According to the White House Blog, last week the Office of Public Engagement (OPE) "brought over eighty interns to the White House for a briefing on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in public service.
