Climate Ride 2009

One hundred fifty cyclists clad in red jerseys stamped with windmills and the name of the title sponsor, Brita, put the pedal to the medal and made a carbon neutral trip starting on September 26 in New York City and finished on September 30 in Washington D.C., 300 miles and five days later. Yes, you read that right. They biked 300 miles from New York City to Washington D.C.


Asian American politicians battle over high speed rail

Let's call it the Battle of the Bayou. Down in Louisiana, Governor Bobby Jindal and Congressman Joseph Cao are at odds in a little Republican party battle. Governor Jindal continues to try and court the right-wing for a future Presidential run while Congressman Cao, who is fighting for his political life, tries to appeal to the middle in his uphill re-election bid. Guess which side won?


Transit Workers Union (TWU) Endorses Council Member John Liu for Comptroller

There is a growing list of supporters for Councilmember John Liu’s Campaign for NYC Comptroller.  In addition to the list of community leaders and elected officials that had joined him at the Campaign Kickoff in early March, there has been labor support also starting to make strong supportive announcements.
