Iron Chef America, Michelle Obama, and Chef Comerford

I'm sure a lot of people have heard about the Iron Chef America Super Chef Battle.  White House executive chef and Filipina American Cristeta Comerford teamed up with Bobby Flay to battle Emeril Lagasse and Mario Batali.  The secret ingredient: anything from the White House garden.  Can I just say... WOW! Access to fresh produce for so many communities is so limited. It's great that the First Lady Michelle Obama has committed to campaigning for healthier eating in the nation, as Chef Comerford discusses in her blog post, reposted here. Today Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) introduced the Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP). Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Progressive Caucus all support CIR ASAP, which is this Congress’ first real step toward common sense reformation of our nation’s broken immigration system.
