APAP Calendar

LGBT/Pride Week

June is LGBT pride month. We have a variety of queer AAPI's, friends, families and allies posting about their experiences. Thanks to Be DeGuzman, one of APAP's 2009 Unsung Heroes, for coordinating this special week of posts.

To help with our upcoming hate crimes/Vincent Chin week (June 21) or Pacific Islander week (Aug), please let us know. If you have a topic you or your agency would like to coordinate, email us.

Thank you!

On behalf of the Board of Asian Pacific Americans for Progress,

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you to the eighty hosts around the country who opened up their homes, offices and community spaces for the house parties!

Thank you to our wonderful guests Konrad Ng, Tammy Duckworth, Tina Tchen, Judy Chu and Joe Sestak who all provided wonderful insight and inspiration!

Thank you to our volunteers, in particular Patrice, Stephanie and Sarah who really kept the train moving! Thanks to our webteam for making sure our site had the latest information on the parties!

Thank you to our co-hosts the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, Kaya: Filipino Americans for Progress, South Asians for Opportunities and Kappa Phi Lambda.  You're only as good as the company you keep!

And finally, and most importantly, thank you to all of you who found time on a Sunday afternoon to attend a house party.  I know we're all busy with work, family, friends and play, but it's important to devote a little time and effort to make sure all our lives are improved.  Thank you for believing in our community, in the grassroots movement and in Asian Pacific Americans for Progress.

In partnership,

The Board of Asian Pacific Americans for Progress

P.S. - It's still not too late to support our efforts.  Please consider donating or joining as a paid member.
