Police are trying to locate 26-year-old Michelle Le, a nursing student and San Mateo, California resident, who vanished on May 27, 2011 at 7:00 PM from Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, California when she left class to go get something out of her vehicle, only taking her keys and cell phone with her. Her classmates fully expected her to return and although Michelle left her class gear, purse and wallet behind, she never returned and has not been heard from or seen since.
As of June 2, 2011, police consider Giselle Esteban, former close friend of Michelle, a Person of Interest. Esteban told ABC7 News by phone she "openly hates Michelle" for once stealing her boyfriend in high school but is innocent of anything associated with Le's disappearance.
Esteban and Le became fast friends at Mt. Carmel High School in Rancho Penasquitos, located in southern California. Both were members of the school's Key Club and both ended up in the Bay Area after graduating from high school.
A tipline has been set up by the Hayward Police Department and anyone with information that will assist in learning Michelle's whereabouts or what has happened to her is urged to call 1 (510) 293-5051 immediately. ==========================
